Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I accept cash, checks, or credit cards for payment.  I do not bill insurance. My fee is $225 per hour.

Some insurance policies offer partial reimbursement for out of network mental or behavioral health services like I provide. Your insurance company may or may not cover out of network services, but if you do have out of network coverage, it is up to you to send in your own claim forms. My policy is for you to make payment in full at the time service is rendered. At your request, I will supply you with itemized invoices which you can submit to your insurance company along with an insurance claim form (provided by your company) to request reimbursement.

Please be aware that in order for you to receive benefits, I will have to give you a diagnosis – which will be a matter of record in your medical history.

Do you offer a free “get to know you” session?

I don’t.  All appointments require payment at the conclusion of the session.  I accept cash, checks, or credit cards for payment.

You’re not an MD. What happens if I need medication?

Since I’m not a medical doctor, I am not able to prescribe medication. If medication is a consideration, the issue will be discussed with you and an appropriate referral will be made based on your particular situation.

What are your hours?

All sessions are scheduled by appointment only. Every effort will be made to provide availability at times that are convenient for you. Appointments can be arranged Monday-Friday from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM.  Some Saturday appointments may be made available for those who are unable to schedule at another time.

How can I contact you?

You can contact me by email or by phone. When you call, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. If you email me, I will get back to you within 48 hours.  If I have not returned your call or email in 48 hours, please get back to me just to make sure your message was not lost.

Emergency service is not offered on a 24 hour basis. If your call is not returned quickly enough to meet your need, you have the option of contacting your family physician or local emergency service.

What if I have to cancel an appointment?

If you must cancel an individual or couples session, please call 24 hours in advance so your time can be made available to someone else. You will be responsible for the full fee for sessions not cancelled 24 hours in advance.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the law you have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate for “health care” costs. Click here to read the notice required by law. Due to the nature of therapy, it’s simply impossible to estimate the duration of our work together. I will provide you with information on my hourly rate and you are free to continue or cancel at any time. Payment is due at the conclusion of each session.
